Prerequisites

Before importing property data, ensure you have:
  • A pre-populated CSV file using a predefined Ctrl Hub import template
  • All required property data fields completed in the template
If you need guidance on which CSV import template to use or how to structure your data, contact Ctrl Hub support before proceeding with your import.

Step-by-Step Guide

Upload a Property CSV File

  1. Navigate to Geo > Importer
  2. On the Upload page, select Browse to locate your pre-populated CSV file
  3. Select your CSV file to upload it
Sample rows from the CSV file and the matching import template should be displayed. If the template does not match, stop and contact Ctrl Hub support as the CSV format may not be as expected.

Process the Uploaded Property Data

  1. With your CSV file successfully imported, select Next to start processing
  2. Wait for the matching process to complete until 100% progress is shown
  3. When complete, select Review
The ‘Matching properties’ progress indicator should reach 100% completion.

Review and Edit Properties

Skip a Property

  1. On the Review page, select Edit for one of the properties listed
  2. In the Search by address input field, enter the address and postcode from your CSV file (shown as the CSV input in the ‘Edit row’ window)
  3. Select Search
  4. Review the list of addresses found
  5. If there is no closely matching property in the results, do not select anything from the list
  6. Under Meter action, select Skip
  7. Select Save
The Importer > Review page should show ‘Skip’ in the Meter column for the selected property.

Edit a Property Before Import

  1. On the Review page, select Edit for a property with a closely matched address compared to your CSV file value
  2. In the Search by address input field, enter the address and postcode from your CSV file (shown as the CSV input in the ‘Edit row’ window)
  3. Select Search
  4. From the list of addresses found, select the closest match
  5. Verify the Matched property shows your selected property
  6. Select Save
In the Importer > Review list, the address for the edited row should display the property you selected.

Skip Unmatched Properties

  1. Select the Needs attention filter to list all rows with no match or a low confidence match
  2. For each property listed that needs attention, select Skip
All Meter and PSR values should show as Create, none, or Skip. The Skip count (in the filter row above the Property rows) should reflect the number of skipped rows.

Import Your Data

  1. Select the Import button to start the import process
  2. Wait for the import process to finish (progress will show 100%)
Each Meter and Property should show Done, -, or Skipped status, with progress at 100%.

Extract Skipped Rows

  1. On the Importer > Importing page, select View results
  2. When prompted, select Open to view the CSV file containing all skipped and unmatched rows
  3. Review the skipped rows for properties that need correction
The exported CSV file contains rows from your original CSV import that were not imported. These properties need to be updated in the CSV file to match available property data before attempting to import again.

Verify Imported Data

  1. Identify a property record that you successfully imported
  2. Navigate to Geo > Properties
  3. In the Search by address field, enter the address you want to verify
  4. Select the address from the list of properties offered
  5. When the property page opens, select the Meter / PSR tab
  6. Review the meter and PSR details
  • The MPRN (Supply Identifier) and Serial Number values should be displayed and match the values in your CSV file
  • Select the dropdown arrow to the left of the meter details rows to verify whether the property is on the PSR (Priority Service Register) list
