# Send an access email

> Send an access email to a user managed by an organisation, so they can get
into their account. The server chooses which email to send from the user's
`password_set_at`: when it is null the user is sent the setup (welcome)
email again, and when it is set they are sent a password reset email. Both
emails lead the user through a recovery flow to set a password; neither
contains a secret.

The user must be managed by an organisation, have a Kratos identity, and
have an active membership in the managing organisation, otherwise the
request returns 409 Conflict with an error code saying which condition
failed. The caller needs permission to update the user in the managing
organisation. Every request sends a new email.
